Hilton's First-Quarter Bonus Targets Weekend Stays
Unlike a number of other first quarter hotel promotions, Hilton's "More Points" offer focuses its generosity disproportionately on weekend stays, making it particularly relevant to leisure travelers.
Offer Details
Between January 1 and March 31, Hilton HHonors members can earn 1,000 bonus points per night, plus 5,000 bonus points for two-night weekend stays (Thursday through Sunday nights) at participating HHonors hotels.
Registration is required.
Deal or No Deal
Members earn 10 base points per $1 spent at most HHonors hotels, so a $100 night would net 1,000 points. That's probably well below the average spend, so the 1,000-points bonus will amount to less than double points for the majority of stays.
That's a pretty lackluster bonus. The weekend offer has more to recommend it.
Since the 1,000-point everyday bonus and the 5,000-point weekend stay bonus are combinable, the real bonus for a two-night weekend stay is 7,000 points. That's well worth factoring into your travel planning.
Do consult the list of non-participating hotels before committing to a Hilton stay. By my count, there are more than 200 hotels on the list, the great majority of which are in the U.S.
