Hyatt's Possibilities Promo: 5,000 Bonus Points After Every Three Nights

Posted by Tim Winship on September 01, 2011

Presumably in response to the rebound in travel demand and improved occupancy rates, the trend among recent hotel promotions has been toward less generous offers.

Hyatt's new "Possibilities" promotion for fall stays is no exception.

Offer Details

Hyatt Gold Passport members can earn 5,000 bonus points after every three qualifying nights between September 15 and November 15.

A maximum of 30,000 bonus points may be earned through the promotion.

Registration is required. The online registration form won't be live until September 15, but you can register before that by calling 1-800-30-HYATT.

Deal or No Deal

Just last year, Hyatt's fall offer was a free night or 5,000 bonus points after every two qualifying stays.

This year's promotion is a step back, at least for single-night stayers, although still a contender for Hyatt loyalists.

Gold Passport members earn five points for every $1 spent on Hyatt room rates. So assuming an average room rate of $200, three nights would earn 3,000 points. An extra 5,000 points amounts to a modest bonus.

Pluses

  • All Gold Passport hotels participating
  • Bonus based on nights rather than stays

Minuses

  • Unexceptional bonus
  • Brief two-month qualification period
  • Minimum of three nights to earn a bonus
