Earn Double Points for Carlson Hotel Stays Through September 15

Here's a late entry in the summer hotel promotions lineup from Club Carlson.

(If "Club Carlson" doesn't ring a bell, that's because it's the name for Carlson Hotels' revamped goldpoints plus program, which launched on March 31.)

Offer Details

Through September 15, Club Carlson members will earn double points for stays (and for food and beverage charges to the room) at any Radisson, Country Inns & Suites, Park Inn, or Park Plaza hotel.

Normally, 20 points are awarded for every $1 spent; with the bonus, that's upped to 40 points per $1.

There's no maximum number of points that may be earned during the promotion.

Registration is required.

Deal or No Deal

Double points, with no minimum number of nights or stays to qualify, is a solid if unexceptional offer.

Carlson's network of more than 1,000 hotels, at a range of price points, makes it a useable offer as well.

The one negative: The offer is only in effect for around 1.5 months. Compared to the duration of other summer hotel promotions, that's short. Hilton's double-points promotion, for example, is in effect for a full three months, from July 1 through September 30.
